The will likely be spoilers, but should I talk about something super new I'll warn ya. But consider this a pre-emptive warning! You're WARNED!

Happy Birthday, Link

Wow. The Legend of Zelda is 25 years old. I don't see how this is possible, since I clearly remember playing it on my NES when it came out and I just turned 21...but whatever. I don't get science.

For what it's worth, out of all the stick figure sketch cards I've done, this is one of my very favorites. *tear*

I've never been a huge Zelda-head. I never completed the first game. I was more miserable at the second game, the strange side-scroller The Adventure of Link. Never finished Ocarina of Time, never played Majora's Mask...new-gen stuff is out of my grasp console-wise. I did, however, really dig (and finish-GASP) The Wind Waker, which caused all sorts of nerd rage when the game's whimsical art style was revealed.

I haven't played anything Zelda-y in years, but this Birthday has got me all a-jonesin' to. Link is a gen-u-ine video game icon, and I'll be damned if the original theme song doesn't float through my head once in a while. It's ingrained, for better or for worse.

Anyway, if you care at all, Kotaku.com is celebrating Zelda all week long. If you don't care at all, then I bid you good day. I SAID GOOD DAY.

Wow! I had no idea. Zelda as you may or may not know, is my life. Hmmmm maybe I should do a top scariest moments in Zelda post today? Hmmm HMMMMMM indeed.

I'm sad you never finish the Ocarina of Time. That game is incredible. I play it once every year and I still get all giddy over it. Actually, I play all my Zelda games once a year....does that make me weird?

I think that makes you awesome.

I currently have NO Zelda games on my shelf, because I traded them all in. I am an idiot and I have STOPPED trading in games, and this is a perfect example why. I had this version, which I clearly should have clung to. Sigh.

I don't know why I never finished so many LoZ games. I guess I wasn't in the right frame of mind for them at the time...? Now I am, perhaps, and I don't have any. Wah!

Wow, I heard about that version. I shudder to think about it though, because some of those temples were hard enough without being Master versions....yikes.

I have my Nintendo 64 versions that I no longer need because I can get all the old versions on my Wii now. Maybe you should get a Nintendo 64 from the magic video game wizard and I can give them to you.

**the magic video game wizard doesn't exist (yet) : (

I need a Wii, dammit! I love that all the current-gen consoles are slowly rolling out old titles for download.

HURRY UP MAGIC VIDEO GAME WIZARD I WANT A WII.

Although it would pain me to re-purchase a system I got rid of, there are some sweet N64 games...mmm, GoldenEye.

I still have a NES cartridge of the original, although not the second one. I do really like Adventures of Link, although some people don't. I remember it being harder than the original, especially towards the end.

I also still have my Legend of Zelda pillow from when I was a kid. I still use it to cushion my knees when I'm blowing dudes down at the ren fair. SNAP! No, I'm kidding...about the blowjob thing. I still have the pillow. Swear to god. I'm so cool. Not as cool as these guys (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69_l1oZ2b2M), but pretty cool nevertheless.

Ha ha ha, if you WERE a gay guy, that would be really funny. /sarcasm

Seriously, I know you like to make "I'm gay! No, I'm not" jokes on sites, but please don't do it here, thanks.

Duly noted. I was just trying to be self-effacing in light of my geekdom, more than anything. I don't have some weird trolling agenda like you seem to be implying.

Anyway, there were also three weird and crappy looking Zelda games from 1993-94, for the short lived CDI system. I haven't played any of them though. Here is the angry video game nerd review of the first one, if anybody cares:

I've only played a hand full of Zelda games (A Link to the Past, Four Swords Adventure for the Gamecube and the Phantom Hourglass for the DS) but I've been wanting to play Wind Waker since I still have my Gamecube. I should find a used copy >_>
