SHOCKtober comes to the Sandwich

Someone asked recently if I planned any SHOCKtober festivities here at Jill Sandwich. After all- over at Final Girl, the year revolves around SHOCKtober! I've celebrated in different ways over the years, from reviewing movies to some more interactive things, where folks send in their choices and votes for this and that and then I tally the numbers and we all hold hands and gaze lovingly at the big list we've compiled together. It's fun stuff, so why not do it all video game style? YEAH, WHY NOT.

So: in honor of the best month of all (October), let's do this. Send me a list of your ten favorite horror-based video games. Not what you somewhat-objectively consider the "best". Not necessarily the "best" the industry has to offer, but your favorites. Maybe you love, say the Texas Chain Saw Massacre game for the Atari 2600. Then list it! And how could you not love it? It features a pixelated wheelchair undoubtedly belonging to that total jerk Franklin.

Okay! Are you psyched? Stoked? Pumped? All of the above? Then send me an email with SHOCKTOBER in the subject line and your 10 favorite games in the email body. You don't have to explain your choices, unless you want to. Send that awesome email to me at stacieponder AT gmail DOT COM by Sunday, September 18. Then all throughout October SHOCKtober I'll reveal the results in a way that is sure to be scintillating. I can't wait! CAN'T WAIT I SAY.

Here's a big post I did on horror video games. I dunno. Maybe it'll trip your memory, if it needs trippin'. YEAH VIDEO GAMES!

I don't know. It looks like you've tried just about every scary game worth playing. I guess you could try Dead Island, but I find the tropical Australian(?) location kinda un-Halloween like. To me Halloween is all about gloomy autumn weather and rustic little 'burgs.
